How does installation work?
Installation is simple, fast, and non-invasive. Using our quick connect methods, most installations only take 30-60 minutes. The quarter-inch flexible tubing is no larger than a computer cable and can be routed under cabinets, through drop ceilings, and behind walls. Our trained technicians have installed hundreds of units in businesses throughout Chicago. When they are finished, you can be sure the installation will be discrete and clean.
What if we don't have water near our water cooler?
No worries. Our trained technicians have run the water lines for literally hundreds of feet to install water coolers at some locations. Before starting the installation, we will explain exactly how the unit will be connected and where the line will be hidden.
Who changes the filters and how often?
At Bottle-Free Water, we handle all your regularly scheduled filter changes. While the filters will last more than 18 months, we change filters every 9 months. Unlike other companies, regularly scheduled filter changes are included with your monthly rental fee.
What type of filtration is used?
Bottle-Free Water uses only the highest quality carbon-block filters. High quality carbon-block filters purify municipal water quickly and effectively. The filters are rated for 2200 gallons, more water than a typical organization drinks in 2-3 years.
Specifically, Bottle-Free Water uses a 0.5 Micron multi-stage filter manufactured by Pentak. This remarkable filter removes sediment (visible particles), chlorine, and any heavy metals such lead, arsenic, or copper, rarely found in municipal water supplies. The filter allows healthy minerals such as calcium, potassium, and magnesium to pass into the drinking water. Healthy minerals allow the water to taste fresh, no flat like distilled water.
Will it taste the same as bottled water?
Not necessarily, but our filtered water has a fresh, pure taste. Often people tell us they like it better than bottled water. Other people cannot taste a difference. Healthy minerals give water a fresh taste. Without any minerals, water tastes rather flat. Have you ever tasted distilled water?
Mineral content varies in different brands of bottled water. To the discriminating palate, different brands of bottled water may taste slightly different. Since our mineral content may differ from your bottled water, our water may not taste exactly the same as the bottled water. But, it will be just as pure.
What if the cooler requires service?
Occasionally coolers will stop chilling or heating properly. As a rental service, the equipment is our responsibility. If there is ever a problem with your cooler, just give us a call. We'll be right out to repair or replace your cooler.
How is Bottle-Free water better for the environment?
Bottle-Free Water systems preserve our environment in at least three tangible ways. Our systems do not create waste water, do not burn diesel fuel, and do not fill our landfills with plastic bottles.
Most bottled water companies use a process called Reverse Osmosis to purify their water. Reverse Osmosis uses water to clean water. In fact, for every gallon of purified water, the process creates 2-3 gallons of waste water.
All bottled water companies must transport the 5 gallon bottles to customer sites. This consumes diesel fuel, driving up the cost of fuel and polluting the environment. In addition, the huge quantity of plastic water bottles used today take oil to produce and are overwhelming landfills.
